A list of some LARP details!

The LARP will take place from 1 PM till 5 PM on Sunday, September 20th.  (Eat lunch before you arrive!)  The LARP will be held at:

Metropolitan Arts Institute
1700 N. 7th Ave.
Phoenix, AZ

The venue is not in Mesa, but is about walkable from the light rail, which starts in Mesa.  Driving will definitely be faster/easier, though.  (We had been told that we'd be able to hold the LARP at the much closer Mesa Community College, but they backed out on us very last-minute-like.  Sorry!)

You will play as a KoL character class!  (Feel free to dress up, but avoid having props that occupy your hands.)

You will adventure in a party of three people!  (You can make up groups in advance, otherwise you'll be grouped when you arrive.)

Ideally parties will have a Muscle, a Myst, and a Moxie class.  (Doing otherwise might make parts of the LARP harder.)

Adventures will be about a third "combats" and the rest will be non-combats.

Combat will, in general, be represented by throwing darts at monsters.

Non-combats will vary a lot, and tend to involve solving puzzles or winning carnival-style games.

Four groups will be adventuring at any given time, while everyone else will be waiting to adventure.  When you're waiting you can practice combat (throwing darts), practice some of the more common non-combat game mechanics, solve some puzzles you may have found while adventuring, or just socialize and hang out.

Groups will be competing against each other -- the party that collects the most Meat-worth of treasure will win!  There will be prizes of some kind!

Individuals may also qualify for trophies, but we won't tell you how to get them in advance.

The LARP is going to be lots of fun!
